Developmental Milestones Pediatric Specialists Look For

Developmental milestones are tasks or things that 75% of children can do by the time they reach a certain age. These include things like how they play, learn, speak, act, and move. By watching for these clues, you and your pediatric provider can gauge how your child is developing.
According to the CDC, these are some milestones that your child should be hitting by age:
2 months
- social/emotional
- calms down when spoken to or picked up
- looks at faces
- seems happy when you walk up to them
- smiles when talked to or smiled at
- language
- makes sounds other than crying
- reacts to loud sounds

- watches you move
- looks at toys for several seconds
