Healthy Benefits

Learn how to eat healthier, end chronic dieting and increase daily activity to achieve a reasonable weight.

Healthy Benefits is a 10-week program designed to encourage healthy habits for a lifetime. Goals for the class participants are to:

  • Identify nutrition and exercise habits to change and begin making behavior changes.
  • Adopt a positive attitude toward healthy lifestyle changes.
  • Learn ways to “step up” activity and exercise to reach a healthier weight and lifestyle.
  • Learn about intuitive eating.
  • Set measurable goals that you can reach.

The sessions will will be taught by registered dietitian, Candece Hansen, MS, RD, LMNT and will feature presentations by other health professionals. Classes will focus on how to stop chronic dieting, make behavior changes and how to cope with stress without turning to food. The session on exercise will help you set physical activity goals and provide basic guidelines on how to exercise. The classes on nutrition will help you to learn ways to eat, shop, and cook healthier. Cooking demos will be included.

A fee of $100.00 will be charged for the classes. Wear casual clothing that is comfortable to move in is suggested for the class.

The Healthy Benefits classes are custom-designed by Faith Regional registered dietitians. Preview a sample from Week 2's lesson.
