Jacque Collison honored as 2012 Faith Regional Hospice Outstanding Volunteer by Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association.
 Norfolk –May 30, 2012: Jacque Collison, a hospice volunteer for Faith Regional Health Services, was honored recently as Faith Regional Hospice’s Outstanding Volunteer at the Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association’s annual awards banquet. Each hospice program in Nebraska can nominate an outstanding volunteer to be recognized and honored at the event and Collison was Faith Regional Hospice’s outstanding volunteer.
“As a hospice volunteer, Jacque goes above and beyond to help patients and their families,” remarked Lisa Parks, executive director of Faith Regional Acute Rehabilitation, Behavioral Health, Home Health, Hospice and Personal Touch. “She is very caring and giving of herself and possesses a special understanding of what the patients and their families are going through.”
Collison has been volunteering with Faith Regional Hospice since 2009. Hospice volunteers help provide emotional support and companionship to hospice patients and their families. This may include a variety of activities such as sitting with the patient, reading, writing letters, discussing common interests, watching television and listening to music. Each relationship is unique to the patient, their family and the volunteer.
