Interpreter Services Expanded at Faith Regional Health Services.
Norfolk – August 10, 2012: Good communication is a key aspect in providing excellent health care. Faith Regional Health Services offers every patient the right to an interpreter at no cost. This service guarantees that non-English speaking patients and their families are able to communicate thoroughly with health care providers enabling seamless delivery of care.
To provide the best patient experience possible for the hospital’s non-English speaking patients, Faith Regional has expanded their 24 hour on-call services to include in-house Spanish-speaking interpreters during the normal work day. These interpreters are proficient in English, Spanish and medical terminology.
“Faith Regional always strives to give our patients an exceptional experience,” remarked Joy Killham, director of Faith Regional’s Patient Financial Services and Communications. “Our interpreters are passionate about providing this service to patients, their families and healthcare providers. The hospital is excited to be able to expand this line of service.”
Faith Regional encourages Spanish-speaking patients who come to the hospital for routine, scheduled appointments to schedule their services when an interpreter is on-site. An interpreter is on-site from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. When scheduling your appointment, please let your provider or Faith Regional’s Central Scheduling know that you would like an interpreter and they can suggest available blocks of time.
For unscheduled or emergent procedures, interpreting services for Spanish-speaking patients are available 24/7 as an on-call service. Faith Regional also has an interpreter line available 24/7 for all other languages.
