Home Health Services
What is Home Health?
For many patients, medical treatment does not always require a hospital or nursing home setting. Faith Regional Home Health Service offers professional health services which have been prescribed by a physician and are performed in the home of a patient. These services are provided on an intermittent basis to patients of all ages requiring a variety of assistance, from nursing care to therapy.
What are the benefits?
Recovering from an illness, surgery or treatment of an acute or chronic health condition can be
difficult for some. Our goal is to decrease the time spent in a hospital by allowing you to recuperate at home, surrounded by familiar settings and friendly faces.
What services are available?
Registered Nurses
Providing a number of health care services, including:
- Adult and Pediatric Assessment
- Patient and Family Education
- Progress Reports for Physician
- Laboratory Procedures
- Diabetic Management
- Wound Care
- Ostomy Care
- Management of Feeding Tubes
- Maternal and Infant Care
- Infusion Therapy
- Pain Control
- Medication Management
- Patient Education on Disease Management of New Diagnosis
Home Health Aids
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, assist with daily living activities.
- Exercise and Ambulation
- Household Activities
- Bathing and Personal Care
Physical Therapy
Helps patient improve muscle, nerve and joint function, improve motor skills, balance and increase stamina and strength.
- Teaches patients and caregivers safe techniques for mobility in the home.
- Trains patients walking skills with canes and walkers in the home and getting in and out of the house and vehicle.
Occupational Therapy
Customized treatment strategies for the performance of daily living skills.
- Assists patients in developing strategies for the performance of daily living skills.
- Provides instruction and training on using assistive devices for completing daily tasks.
- Determine correct positioning and provide training for improving mobility in community.
Speech/Language Pathology
Treats patients with swallowing
disorders, and assists them in developing and restoring skills in:
• Speaking • Listening • Reading • Writing
• Swallowing • Memory • Reasoning
Additional Services
A Social Worker and a Dietitian are also available to assist with the patient's plan of care.

Persons residing within a 25 mile radius of Norfolk including all or a portion of the
following counties:
• Antelope • Boone • Cedar • Colfax
• Cuming • Knox • Madison • Pierce
• Platte • Stanton • Wayne
Who Can Refer A Patient?
Any concerned person, friend, neighbor, patient, hospital, nursing home or physician may request Home Health services. A physician’s order is required.
Who Pays For Services?
Sources of reimbursement may include:
• Medicare • Medicaid
• Private Insurance • Private Pay

*Home Health Services are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. For after hours and weekend assistance, call Faith Regional Health Services at (402) 371-4880 and ask for the Home Health Nurse on call.
For Telecommunication Service for the Hearing Impaired TDD call (402) 371-4880. Faith Regional Health Services also provides bilingual staff to those who need assitance with communication.
