Faith Regional Capital Campaign

Faith Regional Health Services Foundation, its Boards, and  the campaign leadership have launched a $3 million dollar capital campaign to support the $58 million dollar patient bed expansion project at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE.

On behalf of the community, we have launched this effort to provide everyone the opportunity to invest in their health and their hospital locally. Appropriately, the campaign is titled “Building Tomorrow’s Health."  This campaign is about investing in a hospital and in the services that are here for us now and for future families to come.  It is about helping to provide healthcare that is accessible in a timely manner. The kind of care that will be there for our children who get hurt in sports; the parent who has a heart attack; the car accident victim; the expectant mother; the friend who needs chemotherapy.

The campaign will help build new private patient  rooms, as well as help pay for equipment within the building. To make this campaign a success, we need help from the entire community. The funds committed to the project from this campaign will result in better health care close to home for us, and for our future Nebraska families. As you consider your commitment to the campaign, remember you gift is tax deductible. Thank you for considering an investment in the future of health care in Northeast Nebraska.

Need for Expansion
There are two priorities driving the push for expansion at Faith Regional. The first is a need for more inpatient beds. Faith Regional reaches near capacity on an almost daily basis, indicating a clear need for more beds.

An outside firm completed an extensive bed capacity study and determined that Faith Regional needs a total of 140 beds to accommodate population growth through 2020, and to care for our primary service area as its population ages.

Comfort and Confidentiality
The second prong of the expansion is to provide adequate space and privacy in patient rooms. Current room sizes at Faith Regional average from 160 to 230 sq. ft., while the healthcare industry benchmark for patient rooms today is 350 sq. ft. The need for larger rooms is exacerbated by an increase in the amount of large medical technology equipment. The situation of over-crowded rooms is at its most evident when family members, nurses, physicians and equipment all converge at the same time.

And with strict HIPAA (federal patient confidentiality) regulations, it's nearly impossible to maintain confidentiality in a semi-private room! Today's critically ill patients deserve to have privacy in a space that is comfortable and large enough to include family members who support them in their recovery.
