Meet Our Medical Team
George Yared, MD, CNSP, received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago and fellowships at Wayne State University in Detroit and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. He is board certified in Gastroenterology and Nutrition Support. Prior to coming to Norfolk, Dr. Yared was in private practice for 13 years. His special interest include fishing, nature watching, photography, hunting, snorkeling, hiking and spending time with his children.
Ground Breaking Treatment
Dr. Yared now performs endoscopic radiofrequency ablation therapy using the HALO System. The procedure was recently featured in the New England Journal of Medicine as a highly effective treatment for eradication of Barrett’s esophagus, a pre-cancerous condition that affects one to two million adults in the United States each year.
