Dr. Doug Welsh understands the strong ties that Nebraskans have to their hometowns-his roots go deep into Nebraska soil.

Born in Ogallala, NE, Dr. Welsh attended the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY, as well as the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He received his medical training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, then went on to teach in the Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Cardiology. Dr. Welsh also served on the staff at Nebraska Medical Health System in Omaha, the Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA, and presently serves on the Board of Directors of the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care.

As Medical Director of Cardiology Outreach and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Dr. Welsh provides clinical care for patients throughout northeast Nebraska. He uses state-of-the-art therapies, such as balloon angioplasty and intra-coronary stenting, in the treatment of coronary artery disease. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
