Riad Meada, M.D.
Board Certified in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery
Dr. Meada, a cardiothoracic surgeon, performs a full spectrum of cardiothoracic surgery including on and off pump CABGs and all types of valve procedures. He has experience in all areas of general thoracic surgery including minimally invasive video-assisted thoracoscopic techniques, esophageal and lung surgeries. Also, he performs radiofrequency ablations - a nonsurgical procedure used to treat some types of rapid heart beating.
Dr. Meada received his medical degree from Damascus University School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria. While there, he also completed his Cardiac Surgery Residency and worked as a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon.
In the U.S., Dr. Meada was an Intern and Resident at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. He was a Clinical Instructor for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA. He completed a General Surgery Residency at UCD/ East Bay Surgical Program in Oakland, CA and a Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Dr. Meada also completed an Aortic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Center in Houston.
Prior to joining Faith Regional, Dr. Meada was an assistant professor in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Texas.
