Neurology and Hospital Medicine Physicians

 

Neurology

Hakam Asaad, M.D. has joined Faith Regional Neurology Services. Dr. Asaad’s practice is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis and Stroke.

His qualifications include:

  • Medical Degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology
  • Internal Medicine Residency at Jordan University Hospital and the University of Missouri in Kansas City
  • Neurology Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas
  • Neurophysiology Fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
  • Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Training Program at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
  • J. Kiffin Penry Epilepsy Mini-Fellowship in Winston-Salem, NC

Hospitalist Program

Faith Regional Health Services will welcome four new Hospital Medicine physicians to its medical staff. A “Hospitalist” is an adult medicine physician who is specially trained to care for inpatients who have a wide range of medical conditions, from simple pneumonia to severe infections requiring care in an intensive care unit.

The program is being implemented to broaden the scope of service to the medical staff of Faith Regional and to referring physicians. Faith Regional’s Hospital Medicine Program is directed by Joe Metcalf, M.D.

Leonel Guido, M.D. received his medical degree from the University Autonoma of Central America in Costa Rica. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Costa Rica and continued his Internal Medicine studies at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Guido will begin July 30.

Bhaskar Rao, M.D. received his medical degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Mysore, India. He completed a Clinical Teaching and Research Fellowship at Kingstown Medical College in St. Vincent, West Indies. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Rao will begin July 30.

Nabin Sapkota, M.D. received his medical degree from Shanghai Second Medical University in Shanghai, China. After receiving his degree, he went on to study Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. Dr. Sapkota will begin July 30.

Julie Fletcher, M.D. received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She went on to complete her Primary Care and Internal Medicine Residencies at UNMC. Dr. Fletcher will begin September 1.
