Saint Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center is an 83 bed facility with a reputation for exceeding standards of excellence in care and treatment since 1968. Both long-term and short-term care are available based on the individual needs of each resident. As a vital part of the Norfolk community, the staff at Saint Joseph’s takes pride in the warm and caring atmosphere that is provided to its residents. Saint Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center is licensed by the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and is a Medicare-certified, skilled nursing facility. Saint Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center is an important addition to the continuum of care offered by Faith Regional Health Services. Services are sponsored by The Missionary Benedictine Sisters and affiliated with Faith Regional Health Services. Together, both organizations have a long tradition of caring and service that you can trust.

Our Health Care Services
Professional nurses provide 24-hour nursing care. Saint Joseph’s has a board-certified medical director and together with staff, they work closely with physicians to make sure our residents’ health care needs are being met.

For residents who need special rehabilitative care, Saint Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center can provide inpatient therapies by certified therapists as ordered by your physician.

Physical Therapy focuses on restoring physical use of the body, such as teaching balance, walking, posture, endurance, strength and coordination, allowing a higher level of mobility for the patient.

Occupational Therapy helps residents improve their ability to carry out activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing and hygiene.

Speech/Language Pathology evaluates and treats those residents who have difficulty with speech, hearing, listening, reading, writing, as well as swallowing disorders.

A progressive restorative nursing program continues where rehabilitation therapy ends to assist residents in retaining independence.

The open dining room looks out onto the enclosed courtyard and fountain which provide a picturesque backdrop for residents to view. Buffet dining is offered with a variety of food choices. Family and friends are always encouraged to join the residents at mealtime. Saint Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center is proud to feature a resident food committee which participates in the planning of special meals each month.

Resident rooms feature private and semiprivate accommodations as well as individually-controlled heating and air conditioning. Residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms with possessions from home to make it feel more familiar and comfortable.

Personal Services
The beautiful interfaith chapel is a place for quiet prayer anytime of the day. Our chapel offers daily Catholic Mass and regular Protestant services.

Complimentary transportation service is available to the residents for medical appointments.

A Beauty/Barber Shop is located within the facility and has a licensed cosmetologist who takes appointments. There is an additional charge for this service.

A variety of small and large group activities designed to stimulate mental, social, physical, emotional and spiritual needs are planned daily for residents. One-to-one activities are also available to meet individual needs.

The Parlor near the reception area offers a cozy setting for friends and family visiting residents.
