Emergency Services

An average of 1200 patients per month are seen 24 hours a day by full-time emergency physicians in the emergency services (ER) department. There are 18 treatment rooms, including a severe trauma and chest pain area.

Since the completion of an expansion project (September, 1997), a triage area is available so that a nurse greets every patient personally and does an initial evaluation. In addition, there is a family room which affords privacy to families of patients in traumatic situations.

The ER department does employee physicals for all new employees, as well as performs yearly physicals on special staff as required by state and federal regulations.

The department also offers educational programs to area Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) on an every-other-month basis.
