The Northeast Nebraska Dialysis Center is a progressive hemodialysis treatment facility providing patients and their families with the highest quality of healthcare. Located in Norfolk, Nebraska, the Northeast Nebraska Dialysis Center serves patients within a 100 mile radius and accepts visiting patients as well. The Northeast Nebraska Dialysis Center strives to provide the highest quality of care for its patients. The facility itself was designed to provide patients and their families with a warm and welcome atmosphere equal to that of their own homes. Access to the building is convenient and safe. The main entrance provides a covered driveway which protects patients from the elements while they exit or enter their vehicles. Just inside, patients are greeted by the comfortable receiving area and visitor waiting room. The large open treatment room is home to 12 independent treatment stations—each equipped with individualized heat settings, lighting and a private television with cable TV and headphones. The north side of the building features a wall of windows which presents a scenic, relaxing view of the world outside. Innovation One example is the dialyzer reuse. Dialyzers, or artificial kidneys, are identified with each patient’s name and stored between uses. This system reuses the same artificial kidney up to fifteen times or more and reduces the chance of first use syndrome, a common side effect of new dialyzers. Other highly advanced technical aspects of the center include computerized monitoring of patient data during treatment and state-of-the-art water treatment equipment. Quality
of Care Lifestyle Exercise can play a major role in leading an independent life. Studies show that dialysis patients who incorporate exercise into their daily lives have increased energy levels and generally feel better. Each patient of the Northeast Nebraska Dialysis Center meets with an exercise specialist who develops an exercise program to fit their specific needs. Exercise is a routine part of dialysis treatments and staff members monitor each patient’s performance. Patients can exercise during treatments using specially designed cycles. The cycle secures to the floor in front of the chair for stationary cycling and features tension control and a multifunction computer. The cycles can be easily adjusted to fit each patient. Patients also participate in other exercises during treatment including upper body strength exercises. Family and Friends Lodging Meals |
